The Exhibit.
Each Project Holocene painting is a large-scale mixed media work on backlit fabric, available in sizes ranging from 4×5 to 5×8 feet. Illuminated with LED lighting, the works are equally striking in daytime gallery settings and dramatically captivating in darkened spaces.
Each painting is accompanied by conservation signage specific to the species represented, providing educational context that deepens the visitor experience.
An optional projected film component — showing the creation of the drawings in real time — adds a dynamic layer for venues seeking a more immersive experience.

Why Project Holocene.
The exhibit works because it operates at the intersection of art, science, and conservation — a combination that resonates with broad audiences while supporting institutional education and mission goals.
The illuminated format is visually unlike anything most visitors have encountered, creating a memorable and shareable experience. The works are equally compelling for children and adults, making Project Holocene a strong programming anchor for family-focused institutions.
Conservation signage on each species provides curriculum-ready educational content for schools and student groups.
